Nathasha Contreras is a 23-year-old young woman who has just finished her studies at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB) and is waiting for her degree. She studied Mass Communication and specialized in Audiovisual Production and Integrated Marketing Communications. She is currently a work grant, (known as “Beca Trabajo”) of the General Direction of Student Development, specifically of Vida UCAB, and also makes videos for several YouTube channels.

Nathasha attended UCAB because many members of her family had also studied at this university and, as she lives in Montalbán, she had easier access thanks to her closeness to the campus, so she always kept it as her first choice.

She started studying Psychology in 2011, but after a year of studies she discovered that her true vocation was Mass Communication, so she decided to major in Communications.

During her studies, Nathasha was in Techo, a non-profit organization that promotes the development of the neediest communities, especially in the construction of houses.

Since she started college, Nathasha funded her own studies. When she was in her second semester, she worked in different television channels as a reporter, but the lack of time made it difficult for her to continue, so she entered as a UCAB work grant.

Here I learn a lot because Vida UCAB is media. It is a space related to my career and I learn different tools that help me as a professional.

Regarding scholarships funds, Nathasha wants to thank and motivate donors to continue contributing to the country’s education.

Students who can’t afford to pay for their studies and really want to study deserve it. Many people have the resources to study but they decide not to, and in life, I do not know why it is so, those who want to study and move forward are sometimes those who have fewer resources, so I think it is important to continue with the scholarship fund. If the country is in crisis, at least education should not be lost.
