Alexandra Del Carmen Irigoyen Figuero graduated from UCAB, she is 26 years old and studied Education, mayor in Natural Sciences, between 2012 and 2016. She is currently working as Administrative Coordinator of the Doctorate in Education in the after graduate area in the Humanities and Education Faculty

Alexandra is from Cumana, Sucre State. At the beginning of her studies she moves to “El Paraiso” and begins in Psychology but she fails her first semester and the lady with whom she lives motivates her to try in a different mayor. She decides to try Industrial Relations but realizes that that is not her thing so she decides to mayor in education.

At the beginning I thought, as many do, that studying Education will not be sufficed to make a good life. However time has shown me that this is not so since Education fills the soul and Educators form professionals in all the other careers.

During her time as a student she was volunteer, teacher’s ´assistant and had a work for tuition scholarship in different areas: General Services, at pedestrians and vehicle entrances and finally at the Community Service Volunteer program of the Telecommunications´ Direction.

decided to apply for the work-for-study scholarship to help my mother since it took me a while to make up my mind as to what to study, besides, I am not an only child, I have siblings whom my mother had to care of

During her last semester she had to abandon her scholarship to be able to do the required internships.

I bet everything on the University and working here is my way of thanking the institution and I will continue to do so up until, for any reason I would have to quit, in which case I would support it through donations.

Everyone knows that students from UCAB are very well prepared and in the working world that is worth a lot.

My time as volunteer allowed me to teach children that the University has many opportunities for those who want to study in it; you just have to set your mind to it and give it a try.
